Joshua Seigal is a London-based poet, performer and workshop leader. His most recent book, I Bet I Can Make You Laugh: The Funniest Poems Around, will be released by Bloomsbury in August 2018. His book Little Lemur Laughing (2017) has been longlisted for the North Somerset Teachers’ Book Award 2018 and was longlisted for the 2018 BookTrust Letterbox Club Pick. I Don’t Like Poetry (2016) was awarded silver at the North Somerset Teachers’ Book Awards 2017, and was longlisted for the Laugh Out Loud Award 2017.

Joshua has an MA in Writing/Education, and has undertaken a variety of work with schools. He is the Patron of Reading at Fleetville Infant School, an official National Poetry Day Ambassador, and has worked as the Spoken Word Educator at Plashet School (2014 – 2017) and Poet in Residence at Beatrix Potter Primary School (2015- 2016).

His students have produced award-winning poems at the 2015 and 2016 Verse Vs Verse Poetry Slam, shortlisted for the Amnesty International Youth Award for Poetry and the Betjeman Poetry Prize.

His children’s books are published by Bloomsbury and Flying Eye, and he has performed all over the world. He has taken his poetry to the Edinburgh Fringe, the Edinburgh Book Festival, the Cheltenham Literature Festival and the Bath Children’s Literature Festival.
